Narrative Update 11/14/21 (backdated)
The narrative has been added to the note art asset that can be used in the game. A total of twelve is scattered around the map where the narrative matches the location. The narrative is told through multiple perspectives of those who have disappeared from the summer camp, it drops hints as to what has happened at each location and the identity of the intruder. Most of the notes mentions a location on the map that also contains a note. This can guide the player in exploration if the player chooses to follow the narrative.
When turning narrative into usable art assets, I considered the font of the text and chose a style that could present children's voice and handwriting but still preserves the readability. With Snail at Summer Camp being a horror game, I customized one “scary” note to be placed at the peak of the mountain to add to the horror element. After writing the story, I also added in details that I have mentioned in the story into the game to tie the narrative and the game world together.
